Privates
"Learning to challenge your resistance in the posture lights the same inner fire that allows you to overcome your limitations and to fulfill your potential in life." Rod Stryker, The Four Desires
Currently Rachel is offering yoga via privates. Rachel has extensive experience offering yoga to all aspects of the community: via classes in a studio, in both private group and individual format, for businesses, schools, in workshops, and conferences.
Private lessons are a great way to both begin and maintain a yoga practice. The one-on-one attention allows for an individualized and unique experience and can be a great introduction into yoga as well as a means to delve deeper into your practice and come out of a "yoga plateau".

Yoga Basics/hatha yoga
"Yoga has less to do with what you can do with your body or with being able to still your mind than it has to do with the happiness that unfolds from realizing your full potential." Rod Stryker, The Four Desires
Yoga Basics/Hatha Yoga is for everyone and anyone: those new to yoga, advanced practitioners, and everyone else in between. There is no yoga experience required. As one of Rachel's former teachers would always say, "If you can breathe, you can practice yoga." With a focus on foundation and alignment, a sample private session might include an opening chant (mantra), breath work (pranayama), postures (asana), and meditation.
Restorative
"Most of us need to be given permission to switch from the doing to the being mode, mostly because we have been conditioned since we were little to value doing over being." Jon Kabat-Zinn
Restorative Yoga is the dessert of yoga, hands down. Poses are usually done lying down, accompanied by and supported with a number of props such as blankets, bolsters, straps, and eye pillows, and are held for 5-20 minutes. Restorative Yoga is much needed in today's go-go-go society where adrenal fatigue is common and doing nothing for the sake of nothing is rare. It is an essential part of the yoga world and a truly healing, relaxing, and yes, restorative experience for all. All levels welcome. No experience required.
"All of the troubles of life come upon us because we refuse to sit quietly for a while each day in our rooms." Blaise Pascal
Yoga Nidra literally translates as yogic sleep. If you are looking for a deep restorative and relaxing meditation practice that asks nothing of you except that you lie down, breathe, and listen, while at the same time, helps you to achieve your sankalpa's (resolve/intention), look no further! After experiencing a Yoga Nidra practice, you might feel a calm, balanced, and focused energy wash over you. Yoga Nidra is excellent for those experiencing any stress, anxiety, or uncertainty in life. If Restorative Yoga is the dessert of yoga, Yoga Nidra is the cherry on top. No experience needed!
